TIME:

PROGRAM:

Saturday
We will meet at the Shell Fuel Stop – East Worcester en route to Worcester. From here we will drive in convoy to Gecko Rock via Touwsrivier.  We will stop at Touwsrivier to fill up with fuel and get a quick coffee.  From there we will turn into town and follow a 25 km stretch of road to Gecko Rock.
At Gecko Rock we will set up camp and relax and enjoy the Karoo and camp site. Every one can do their own lunch or whatever you feel like. The evening, as we customarily do, we will light the fires and have a communal bring and braai. We have arranged with the owners for braai wood at R35.00 per bag, so no need to cart wood with you.
Sunday
We will do one of the two trails on offer at the reserve and later we will have another evening at the fires. Weather permitting, we can see how many stars is in the sky as this area is renowned for it’s stargazing..
Monday
After breakfast, we will break camp and depart at 10H00. We may follow some of the gravel roads on the way home, but this is still to be finalized. [One idea on the table is to do the “Ouberg pass” and “Langkloof pass” to Montagu. From there we make our way to Robertson where we will have something to eat at Bourbon Street (optional). From here everyone can leave at their leisure…….]

Communication between participating vehicles on any 4×4 excursion is important for many reasons.  It contribute towards the safety of drivers, passengers and vehicles while on a 4×4 trail, where drivers can communicate with one another as regards to their location and situation not to mention the interesting information that is shared with participants.
We recommend that all 4×4 vehicles that don’t have a VHF two-way radio, to HIRE one from our club. Contact Jimmy Niemann radio@4wd-wc.co.za in this regard, well in advance please.
