Scheppie Saus Weekend Outing @ Scheppie Saus
Nov 30 @ 14:00 – Dec 2 @ 14:00

This is an invite to join Gary and Sarah as they host their first event for club members. What you can expect is a weekend of rest and relaxation at Scheppie Saus. The idea of this trip is to simply rest and enjoy each other’s company after a long year at work, perhaps with loads of fun being had in the swimming pool under the huge oaks.

There will not be any trail driving but Gary is prepared to take anyone who is still learning their car’s capabilities to go out on a training drive on the first part of the trail where we can practice some driving skills at the various easy obstacles. We will encourage Gerard to help us with some pointers. This could be a lot of fun where obstacles can be done repeatedly if you don’t get it right the first time round until you happy with what you achieve.

Settled between the beautiful mountains of Moutonshoek near Piketberg, Scheppie Saus offers unmatched beauty and tranquility.

Facilities for guests include scenic hikes, swimming in the rock pools, 4×4 routes or just relaxing in the tranquil surroundings.

For accommodation, there is a choice between camping and rustic self-catering wooden cabins.

PROGRAM:

We will have a communal braai on Friday evening and on Saturday evening so please bring a bag of wood per car with a mobile braai, if you have, as it makes life easier when braaing your meat. On Saturday we will have breakfast and get ready, for those who wish, to go on a training drive at 10h00. This will take us to about 14h00 when we will be back at our campsite.

Communication between participating vehicles on the 4×4 training is important for many reasons. It ensures the safety of drivers, passengers and vehicles while on a 4×4 trail, where drivers can communicate with one another as regards to their location and situation not to mention the interesting information that is shared with participants. The fun part is the many interesting stories that are shared among participants.
For those who have not got a VHF Radio with the ORRA Channels the Club has radios available for hire. Contact Jimmy Niemann radio@4wd-wc.co.za in this regard, well in advance please. Should you be hiring a radio, please ensure that your lighter socket is working.
